No water skiing, no sign of a tennis pro, slow service, noisy all the time, shabby and in need of a massive upgrade
Your Arrival
Could not go to rooms for another 2 hours, although changing rooms and showers were available
Rooms
Shabby furnishings, scratched furniture, carpets coming off floor, inadequately soundproofed
Restaurants and Bars
Cafeteria college style, also noisy, food OK. 2 restaurants with weird booking arrangements
Beach/Pools/Grounds
Water too cold to swim in pools, hot tub OK, grounds OK, they (and the hotel)all look much better in photos than in reality!
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel
Advertised activities not all available, other activities on timed schedule, would have preferred to enjoy activities when we wanted, not when they wanted
This was our second trip and not much had changed.

We were at the Superclubs resort for the second time in two years. I can't understand why there are complaints about this property.
Arrival
We were at the Superclubs resort for the second time in two years. I can't understand why there are complaints about this property.

Check In: Check in was a "Breeze". We arrived at around 11:30am although checkin is not until 3:00pm. This was not a problem as they gave us our bracelets, checked our bags behind the counter and provided us with a changing room just off the lobby. We changed into our suits and headed for the pool. Around 3:00 our room was ready and we unpacked.
Rooms
The rooms are similar to a chain motel. Clean, cool and everything worked. It has a safe and oversized tub. Unless you plan to spend your vacation in the room, it was very nice.
Main Facility
This was our second trip and not much had changed. It was clean, bright and the staff was always picking up, cleaning and keeping things nice. It is a very well designed place with everything within a short walk.
Staff
The staff did a good job, although most are not engauging which was fine with me. The bartenders did a good job and always remembered what you were drinking when you went for a refill.
Bars
The bars opened on time and you could get a drink from 7:30am till 5:00am. The bars carried premium liquors, but the beer was either local or Miller lite. They make the drinks well and often, my favorite.
Food
We ate mostly at the buffets which were super. They were open long hours and had a wide variety. All the food was tasty and we very much enjoyed it. I am not big into exotic dishes, but the steak was fine.
Entertainment
The entertainment staff had all kinds of things to do during the day, from water volleyball, trapeeze flying, non-motorized water craft, rock climbing. If you didn't want to participate, you didn't have too. There were nightly shows including a comedian and the Hurricane Disco rocked till 5 am. The lobby area has pool, ping pong a health club and big screen tv.
Grounds
The pool was clean and the staff was always cleaning the pool, grounds and the beach. The beach was fine and the water was super. There are beach vendors, but they are not pushy and will leave you alone.
General comments
We have a great time when we go to Breezes. The staff is nice, the facility is in good repair and we just have a lot of fun. There is no real "personal" service such as room service or poolside waiters/waitresses. It is more of a self serve place which was fine with us. If you want someone to wait on you hand and foot, this is not the place. If you want a consistant facility where you can have loads of fun, go to Breezes!
Thanks guys!!

Just came back from our 3rd visit to Breezes this year. There is a very good reason why we keep going back again and again to this hotel - it is the fantastic and fantabulous staff who always make our vacations special. Thanks guys!!
We had a room in the west wing. We found it to be very clean and with a comfortable mattress that I think was new because we had the same room earlier this year and I slept much better this time than I usually do. Did not hear noise at night at all.
The food at the buffet has definitely changed over the last while, and now has a variety of new items that are I would call "healthy living" foods. Of course that did not stop us from having roast turkey twice during the week. The Pastafari and Garden of Eden still had our favourite choices on their menus, plus some new items at Pastafari.
The weather was very hot and humid because of rain, though we also had some sunny periods as well. We spent our time having fun and meeting both old and new friends.
When you want a relaxing vacation that that does not cost a fortune, but does have decent food and drink, plus lots of fun, you can't beat Breezes. Go with an open mind and enjoy yourselves.
I don't expect to be pampered

The arrival at the airport was quick and painless. A jump on the shuttle and off we went! The driver, Ken, shared lots of tips with us about things to do and interesting facts about the Bahamas. Upon arrival, the bellman took care of our luggage, we checked in effortlessly and off to the room we went. Seemed like we were off to a good start!

Rooms:
The room was fine. Nothing spectacular. The bathroom was very large, but the water pressure was lacking big time. Clean and comfortable, but nothing more than that. On our second day, we were not left any towels so had to go get some from the desk, and the third day she left her bathroom cleaning supplies in the bathroom. Most places I have stayed have made little things with the towels every day, so not getting any towels was a bit of a shock....ah well, in the grans scheme of thiings no big deal.

Restaurants and Bars
We went for the day life, and found the food at the buffet to be very good - better than most of the resorts I have stayed on. There was something for almost everybody and we found it to be very tasty. They had a great salad bar. The drinks were terrible. The soda machines were often empty, forget about getting ice from the machine and the water was absolutely terrible - we tried, but we just could not drink it. We spent the majority of our money at the gift shop buying bottled water. I'm not a big alcohol drinker, so can't comment much on the variety, but the few drinks I did have were not very tasty. The coffee was awful. Getting a reservation at one of the 2 restaurants was quite a hastle. We were told that they start taking reservations at 11:00 for the next night. My friend was celebrating her 30th birthday so we tried to make reservations for a birthday dinner only to be told that because only one restaurant was open, they started at 10 that day and the restaurant is full. (You need reservations for both.) We went to MASO restaurant at the Wyndham up the street (delicious water, wine and food!) We did manage to get a reservation at the Italian estaurant for our last night, and it was very good. That's where they hide the drinkable wine and water BTW. The food and service was great. And that is about the only place that the service was great. The dinner hall is set up buffet style, and while the majority of the tables were empty a lot of the time, they had not been cleared and cleaned, and finding cutlery was a nightmare! Many staff members simply walked by the dirty tables and left them uncleared. Many times we sat for our entire meal, including dessert surrounded by dirty tables that were never cleared. Amazing. We would offer our unused cutlery and condiments to people walking by who had asked for knives and forks and didn't recieve them. My friend ordered a glass of wine at dinner, 25 min later she still didn't have it. Another staff member walked by the table and she asked her for a glass of red. There was no "yes", "no" - no acknowledgement whatsoever. About 10 min later, after she had all but given up on having a glass of wine, the lady returned to our area and put the glass of red down on the dirty table next to us - NOBODY WAS SITTING THERE! You think I'm kidding, but I am not! The beach grill was pretty good, but the soda machines were empty 90% of the times that we went there. We let them know, nicely that the diet pepsi was empty, and returned an hour later - Still empty. Unbelievable!
Beach/Pools/Grounds
The beach area was large and quite beautiful. This was the best thing about the place. There are very few Tiki huts on the beach, and there was always a mad dash in the morning to get one of them, lest you would be frying in the unforgiving sun all day. Luckily, we were part of the early to bed; early to rise crew, so we got one most days. We spent the vast majority of our time on the beach, partly because we wanted to and partly because the pool area was crowded and small. One pool?? Really? I must have missed that! Everything was clean though, so can't really complain about it. What I will complain about is the constant harrassing of the salespeople on the beach. This is the first time I have stayed at a place where they allow multiple salespeole on the beach, constantly harrassing the people laying there. They started with the jet ski yelling at 8am and continued all day. Singling out people all day and asking them if they want to jet ski. I didn't 5 minutes ago, and still don't, thanks anyway. There were up to 4 women at a time walking back and forth selling jewelery, t shirts and offering hair braiding. They had a little table set up, so we could clearly go to them at any time, but all 4 of them individually approached us a min of 4 times each per day asking if we wanted to look at the ankle bracelets or get our hair braided. I'm going to tell you the same thing I told the jet ski guy - I wasn't interested 5 minutes ago, and remain not interested. The final huge complaint is that they allow people from a time share company to come to the resort, suck you into going to a time share presentation (by assuring you that it is not a time share presentation) where the sales people are rude, aggressive and seem to not understand the word "NO". Unless you are interested in investing on the spot, or are able to tolerate an inhuman amount of frustration for some tickets to Atlantis or something, just insist that you don't want to go. We regret going to it big time. I've also written a letter to that company. (Who would have though I'd start my letter writing campaigns in my early thirties??)
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel
We did a Dolphin Cay Adventure at Atlantis which was awesome. Dolphins are so smart and amazing.....Atlantis was quite beautiful but Holy Mother it is HUGE! I may think twice about staying there for the time it takes to get anythere! It was really nice though. We did a Snorkel and Booze Cruise, which was a nice little getaway. They take you from Cable Beach to pick up more passengers downtown and on Paradise Island and take you to a snorkeling place. The water was pretty rough that day, so most of us only stayed in for about 15-20 min. Then, they take us to a private beach for an hour where the only people on the beach are the people on the boat - and the Jet Ski guys.....at this point I was convinced that they were actually stalkers. They saw the boat coming in and circled the boat like sharks waiting to attack! Once the boat stopped and we got off the feeding frenzy began! Jet Skis - hey lady do you want to jet ski....never ending for the whole hour on a tiny beach where the only escape was to throw yourself into the water. All in all, it was 60 bucks, including drinks, a good BBQ lunch and an hour of snorkeling and on a beach, and dancing and singing the whole way back. I'd recommend doing this. Because apparently we are masochists, we walked to the straw market, where we were continually approached by what I can only assume were the Ying to the Yang on the beach - a lot of very pushy sales people....if you stop breathing down my neck and let me look, I may buy something.....they didn't, so neither did we. Walked away shaking our heads at ourselves - what were we thinking? There didn't seem to be a lot of activity on the resort. Nothing on the beach. They called it "beach games" but really is was next to the pool area. They played a game called ringtones a few times (think name that tune), had a few beach games here and there and an off with your head game - essentially a gladiator pit only on a wooden stage. Any other time I had been away, you were hard pressed to find an area where there weren't activities, and the staff were very lively and encouraging everyone to get involved. Here, the staff were more relaxed than the vacationers, and you really had to go out of your way to find out what was going on and where. Had the best massage of my life there courtesy of Shelley.
Other Comments
When I go away, even though it is an all inclusive for R&R, I don't expect to be pampered. I'm very easygoing and self sufficient. I do, however, expect the same level of service as at a Wendy's for example. The staff in general did not seem motivated, and while nobody was rude at all, little things like "hello how is everything going", making sure a guest has a place to eat the meal they just put together from the buffet, bringing the glass of wine to a table with the people sitting at it and filling the soda machines when it is brought to your attention is important to me. I don't expect that the soda machines are checked - but when a guest lets you know that it is empty, change it! It was amazing how many staff members would walk past you without so much as a word. The maintenance guys were the friendliest and most outgoing people on the whole resort! I will not be going back there, and I would not recommend it. The Bahamas is a beautiful country, and I will return there, but I will be searching for somewhere else to stay.

Just returned from a 10 day vacation at Breezes Bahamas. We stay there regularly, in fact just as often as we can. As regular guests it means we know more or less the whole staff and without exception they are all pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We arrived midweek and on Wednesdays there is usually a party for returning guests - when we went to the party we found many people we had met on our previous vacations. It was really nice to catch up with them all. In addition, the day before we left some old friends arrived and we had a lot of laughs and a super dinner together in the Garden of Eden.

In sharp contrast to our last vacation in September, when it was very hot and humid, November was quite a bit cooler especially in the early morning, but it became more comfortable as the day progressed. It did prevent us from going in the pool. However we had a lot of fun just hanging around, meeting yet more new and old friends, relaxing and participating in the daily entertainment with the crazy entertainment team.

I did remember to bring home daily activity sheets so if anyone wants to know what is on each day, just ask and I will list it. I hope to scan them and post them in the forum or our personal website about the Bahamas at http://www.geocities.com/regkit/

We did not take any excursions, though one day we went downtown and noticed there was definitely less people around, both on the streets and in the stores, the looming recession being the cause !
Rooms
The renovations to the east wing rooms are nearly complete and we took a peek and they look very nice with tiled floors, new walk in showers, flat screen tv’s. My husband was really really impressed with them.

We had a room on the 2nd floor in the west wing, with a great bathroom, close enough to facilities but not too close, and we did not hear any noise at night from the entertainment. Talking about entertainment Funky D and the Summer Breeze Band are still serenading everyone. We had a fantastic time and even my husband - who can’t dance - danced a couple of times but in his stead I found a very tall handsome man who I borrowed from someone and he was very good and made me look like I knew what I was doing.
Food
The three meals a day that we ate was much more than we eat at home but I somehow managed to limit my weight gain to only 2 lbs. Here is a little selection of what is available in the buffet and a la carte restaurants - I am actually taking it from my previous review from May 2008, but brought up to date.

Breakfast has excellent omelettes, fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, breakfast potatoes, waffles and syrup, a variety of breads, cereals, fruits, yoghourt, etc. plus some traditional local delicacies. Coffee is available at self serve machines, or served at your table, plus a variety of juices. I personally found the coffee tastier than it was in September. Lunch and dinner in the buffet offers a very large selection of salads, meat, vegetables, pasta, a variety of seafood and desserts. There is also a carvery, roast beef, roast turkey, roast pork, ham, etc. During a typical week there are theme nights, such as Bahamian, Oriental, Caribbean, Italian (Pizza, Lasagna, etc) and International.

The desserts are many. They range from ice cream from a machine - you select your own toppings - to a large selection of cakes and pies, our favourite being chocolate profiterols which are to die for and I am sure that they were what contributed to the extra 2 lbs.

The pool grill has burgers, cheeseburgers, fries, hot dogs, greek salad, conch fritters, fish and chips, jerk chicken and more. Between the two of us we have tried everything and never been disappointed.

At 4 p.m. in the Piano Bar there is a selection of sandwiches, cookies/cakes and tea/coffee. The Piano Bar is also a nice place to relax in the evening after dinner unless you are watching the entertainment upstairs.

The two a la carte restaurants are well worth a visit, and both provide a romantic ambiance.. The Garden of Eden adds a twist to traditional western food, with such items as Adam’s Rib (steak), Lucifers Catch (Salmon), etc. Pastafari has a good sized hors’ douvres table, plus an expanded menu since September that includes a larger selection of salads, pasta, seafood, steak, chicken and desserts.
Bars
There are 4 bars. The main bar, pool bar, piano bar and the disco bar. The local beer is Kalik regular on tap, plus Kalik Light and Sands which is a relatively new Bahamian beer. Occasionally there are other beers but most of the time it is Kalik and Kalik Light. You will find a good range of alcohol available, from Absolut Vodka, Crown Royal, Johnny Walker Scotch, Gin, Rye, Brandy, Cognac and Courvoisier, etc.etc..

The white wine from Chile is a Chardonnay and the red is a Sauvignon/Merlot. For a champagne type, there is an Italian Spumante available. The a la carte restaurants may also have additional wines

November 20 - 27 We arrived in the Bahamas to wonderful weather, the airport is very nice, the transfer was quick and professional. When we arrived at the hotel, our room was not ready which is understandable since it was 10:30AM. They told us to check back at 3PM. Our bags were tucked away safe. We were greeted with a Bahama Mama!

We arrived in the Bahamas to wonderful weather, the airport is very nice, the transfer was quick and professional. When we arrived at the hotel, our room was not ready which is understandable since it was 10:30AM. They told us to check back at 3PM. Our bags were tucked away safe. We were greeted with a Bahama Mama!
Rooms
The rooms in the small tower were being renovated while we were there. Our room looked fairly recently renovated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice. We were on the first floor so I believe our room was wheelchair accessable. The room is very basic with a 32" LCD TV Mounted on the wall, a dresser and a bed. Nothing special. It was clean.
Restaurants
Three restaurants -
The Buffet was good, although it was the same thing every night it seemed. Food was good, nothing too exotic.
The Garden of Eden - The best restaurant in my opinion here. The atmosphere was great outdoors. The food was good. Try the Salmon, it was excellent.
Pastafari - A decent restaurant. The food once again was good. A little strange getting cheeze sticks like you would find out of a box, but cool nevertheless.
A picky eater will have no problems finding food to eat here.
Bars
I was unimpressed with the bars with the exception of the Piano Bar which we unfortunately didnt use as much as we should have. The bars lacked a few things:

1. Service - You want a drink, get it yourself. I ask for Pina Colada, they point me to a slushy machine and there is a bottle of rum on the counter. Not a big deal.

2. Blenders - They didnt mix or make drinks as far as I saw. Ask for a Bahama Mama, it comes from a jug, ask for a daqurie it comes from a slushy machine. Ask for something requiring a mix and they look at your funny. The bars just werent all that fun compared to other resorts. It isnt bad, just different.

3. Bar staff who looked like they wanted to be there. The pool bar and main bar staff always had a look of "Why are you bothering me?"
Beach/Pools/Grounds
The Pool is my biggest and only real legitimate complaint about the Hotel. No one could swim in the pool all week. The staff did a good job cleaning the pools every morning. The problem is by 6:30 the seaguls had moved in. The pool quickly obtained a film of seagul defication and feathers. The gulls swam and bathed in the pool, used it as their bathroom, and caused the biggest disappointment in the hotel as I really enjoy swimming on vacation.

The beach on the other hand is really nice. Sand is very fine. It is fun to play in the waves. The grounds were fairly well kept although I felt bad sometimes for the staff as keeping up with the bird poo was definitly a challenge I wouldnt want to take on.
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel
The activity staff was missing for the first few days, but after that they appeared and it was fun to be around them. The Circus school is quite difficult for a larger guy, but most people were quite successful on the trapeze and many had fun.

We love Scuba. We decided to do a two tank dive on the Tuesday. First dive was a ship wreck. Saw lots of Lion Fish. Beyond that, probably the worst dive we have ever done. Second dive was a shallow reef dive. This one was excellent, schools upon schools of fish. A nice dive.

We were considering swimming with the dolphins. Two options were given too us. $165 pp USD at some dolphin experience place or $190 pp USD at Atlanis. A group of 10 people with a total of 30 minutes shared in a pool for nearly $500CAD when the exchange is done. Not gonna happen. Kind of disappointing.
Other Comment
Overall for the price we paid (under $900 pp) we cannot complain. Had we paid the usual rate for this hotel ($1200+)we would have been very disappointed. It is a very "American" holiday. Meaning the food is very American, the tours very American, the culture is more American than otherwise in my opinion. I like to take trips to places where I can imerse myself in the local culture and I found it difficult to do this here. The market was full of knock off designer handbags, watches, sunglasses instead of Bahamian crafts. If you want Bahamian stuff, go to the Festival Place. There is some neat stuff there and it is from what I can tell a unique place in the area as you are either in a really expensive jewelery store, looking at knockoff designer things, or yet another rack of bead necklaces the same as every other island in the caribbean or the local ontario flea market.
In conclusion
The Bahamas was nice, the weather was nice, the people were nice. It is a very expensive place to go and we are glad we made the trip. Unfortunately we will not return to the Bahamas as it just didnt offer us what we are after in a vacation.

For others, it represents the perfect place to go. If you like food like you get at home. Stores, products, experiences like you get at home. and basically a vacation at home but warmer, go for it. Check to see if they have done anything about the seagull issue first.

Just spent 8 days at Breezes Bahamas where we had a wonderful vacation.
Everything was just right, from the hot hot hot weather, the ocean breezes keeping us cool, and the friendly atmosphere at the hotel. We have stayed here so many times we have lost count, which means that we pretty much know all the staff and it feels like home.

Everything was just right, from the hot hot hot weather, the ocean breezes keeping us cool, and the friendly atmosphere at the hotel. We have stayed here so many times we have lost count, which means that we pretty much know all the staff and it feels like home.

From the very first day, when we arrived at the airport in Nassau, we came across old friends that greeted us and that made our vacation even better. When we got to the hotel we checked in swiftly and soon after our room was ready.
Room
Our room was on the 2nd floor in the west wing with a view that looked out over the jacuzzi, pool and part of the beach. The location was perfect, not too far to anything. One evening we could hear the music from the main stage, however it was not intrusive and did not bother us. The bathrooms are renovated, with good sized glass doors to the walk-in showers, safety bars on the wall so you cannot slip, plus a seating area so you can scrub your feet, etc. The housekeeping was excellent and we returned every day to a pristine room.
Entertainment
From aqua-aerobics to golf in the sand, dancing or bikini contests on the outside stage, playing bingo, tennis at the on-site courts, bicycle rides, sailing lessons, windsurfing lessons, trampoline, pool and beach volleyball, darts, dance classes. There is such a range of activities it is hard to list them all. Each day has a theme such as Sumo Sunday, Pyjama Tuesday, Oldies Wednesday, Carnival Friday and so on. You cannot be bored - and that is just the daytime!

If you need a workout after all that activity the hotel has a gym centre behind the large screen tv. You will also find pool tables and ping pong. Internet facilities are available off the lobby, to the right of the large screen t

Most evenings Funky D & Summer Breeze Band takes centre stage in the Main Lounge. Pool tables and table tennis tables are available for guests use. You can also find Karaoke, a Casino Night, Oldies and Talent shows. The Disco is on the lower level across from Pastafari. It has a comedy act twice a week, plus a pyjama party, sumo wrestling, etc. The Piano Lounge is next to the buffet and there is a resident piano player. Some guests like to congregate here, and perhaps sing along with the music.
Food
From the very large selection in the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner we always found plenty of appetizing food.
Breakfast has excellent omelettes, eggs and bacon, boiled eggs, sausages, waffles and syrup, a variety of breads, cereals, fruits, yoghourt, etc. plus some traditional local delicacies. Coffee is available at self serve machines, or served at your table, as at a variety of juices.
Lunch and dinner both offer a very large selection of salads, meat, fish, vegetables, pasta, desserts. There is also a carvery, roast beef, roast turkey, roast pork, ham, etc. Twice a week they offer an a la carte service. You select what you want from a menu and it is served to you. During a typical week there are theme nights, such as Bahamian, Oriental, Caribbean, Italian (Pizza etc) and International.
The desserts are many. They range from ice cream to a large selection of cakes and pies, our favourite being chocolate profiterols.
The pool grill provides burgers, hot dogs, greek salad, conch fritters, fish and chips, jerk chicken (reputed to be better than that in Jamaica - and I agree). Between the two of us we have tried everything and never been disappointed.
At 4 p.m. in the Piano Bar there is a selection of sandwiches, cookies/cakes and tea/coffee.
The two a la carte restaurants are well worth a visit, and both provide a romantic ambiance.. You will find a good range of alcohol available, from Absolut Vodka, Crown Royal, Scotch, Gin, Rye, Brandy and Cognac, plus many more.
The wine from Chile is either a Chardonnay (white) or a Sauvignon/Merlot (red). For a champagne type, there is an Italian Spumante available. The a la carte restaurants may also have additional wines.
Miscellaneous
To get to downtown Nassau you take the #10 bus to the left of the hotel at a cost of $1 per person each way. Do not forget they drive on the left - so look both says when crossing a road. Once downtown there is lots to do, from the straw market, the Pirate’s Museum and Senor Frogs. Other attractions are the Ardastra Gardens & Zoo, Arawak Cay for local delicacies, Fort Charlotte. To get to Paradise Island you can walk through to the road behind the straw market, or any street on the left, and you will be on the harbour and see the ferries to take you to Paradise Island. It is $3 per person each way.
The Crystal Palace Casino is a few minutes away, perhaps 5 to 7 mins. During the day when you leave the hotel walk to the right. You can’t miss it. In the evenings a free shuttle is available to and from the hotel (except Mondays). It arrives just after the hour and returns promptly on the hour starting from 6 pm up to midnight. Breezes is the first drop off.
HAVE FUN !!!!

Travelled to SuperClub Breezes at Cable Beach in Bahamas (May 1-8th, 2009) and it was a huge disappointment. I would not say at this hotel every again or recommend it to anyone. Maybe if you got the trip super cheap and it you are 20 looking for a place to drink all week and the quality of food/drinks/facility is not a priority and again if the trip was super, super cheap. I would not say that this hotel is a 4 star based on the condition of the facility.
Rooms are very basic and loud from the hallway (doors opening /closing and voices echo off the tile hallway floor) and hotel is very out dated. First floor main areas – piano bar, buffet area smells musty and is very dated and needs a lot of paint and redesigning. Food was very poor. Lived on the white rice all week – not what I planned on doing when I paid for my all inclusive trip. And eating at the outside areas was just a hassle since seagulls would just attack your food and poop all over the tables and chairs. This was when they weren’t swimming and pooping in the pool. Drinks were like Seven Eleven Slurpee with alcohol added. Could not get bottled water – went to the supermarket twice for water, pop and cheese and crackers to eat, again this was a all inclusive trip. Eating and purchasing food in the Bahamas is very expensive anywhere.
The Bahamas beach and water is beautiful. Not a lot to do on the island if you are not big into water related sports or laying on the beach however the weather was amazing. Went snorkelling with Captain Paul on the Ninja – this was breath taking. A great mini boat trip not far from the beach for $40 – well worth the trip. Low 80’s each day with a nice breeze. The local people are very nice and friendly. It is too bad that my trip to Rui Yucatan was cancelled due to the swine flu and I was redirected here. This was not the type of trip I agreed to pay for. This was my first time staying at a Breezes Resort and I would never select one again which is not what I thought this travel/resort company represented.

Just came back from a week at Breezes where we had a terrific time relaxing and having fun. On check in we found we had a great oceanfront room with a view of the many colours of the ocean which was actually more green than blue.
As we vacation at Breezes several times a year we were greeted by staff everywhere we went (this happened even at the airport). The staff at Breezes are the secret to enjoying a holiday here as they are all so attentive and fun.
As we were there primarily for rest and relaxation we participated in lots of non-energetic beach games and even did aqua aerobics a couple of times. We sat in the sun, we swam in the pool, and ate and drank well - the food was excellent everwhere from the beach grill to Pastafari (didn't make it to the Garden of Eden).
The weather was very good. It did rain the day before we left, so we sat inside and chatted with other people, etc.. While it was raining I noticed that pool staff took an extra opportunity to clean the pools - that's good time management. All in all it was a great relaxing holiday - with the exception of the actual travelling - and we look forward to returning in the Fall.

Before we begin our review, the food, room and staff were great!
The Good
We arrived at Breezes Nassau on Jan. 15 and we had a fantastic time! We would recommend this resort to anyone. The people of Bahamas were the most welcoming and friendly people we have ever met. We have been to the Carribean nine times and we are people in our 50's. We arrived about 8 P.M. and picked up a drink of course and went to the basketball court and heard fantastic music from Tabatha Gernie and the Xpress Band who play at the resort every Monday night. We stood by the rail and Tabatha enthusiastically waved us down to the Garden of Eden. She personally sang to us for about an hour and we invited others down who were standing by the railing. In the main lobby there was karoke which was also entertaining; however, comparing the quality of Tabatha and her band, we have no idea why they would be in the Garden of Eden with ourselves and six other people. They are by far one of the best live bands shows that we have seen or heard. Other than Monday night, the nightly entertainment is known as Funky D and the Summer Breeze Band and we attended the main lobby every night to hear the band and dance to this fantastic band and entertainer. The lead singer did a tremendous job involving the crowd in the experience. The entertainment at Breezes Nassau far exceeded any other entertainment that we have experienced at any of the nine resorts that we have attended. If you enjoy music, go to Breezes!

The Bad and The Ugly
Within two hours of listening to the band, we experienced what we thought to be mosquito bites. The next morning I broke out in hives and boils on my legs "the ugly" with some on other parts of my body as well. Due to the severity of the bites, we attended the medical station at the resort. We learned of an outpatient clinic in Sandyport and my husdand and I were very pleased with the service that I received and the doctor prescribed an antibotic and a hydrocortisone shot. The severe itch was gone; however, the marks on my legs were "rather unappealing" to say the least. We spoke to another lady at the pool who had a less severe but similar reaction to the bug bites. Upon arrived back home on Jan. 22., I attended my doctor and was given a further cortisone cream and after 30 days since the bites, I still have slight marks on my legs,"the bad". I seem to have developed "hot flashes" (I am over menopause). We researched the CDC in Atlanta, Goergia and a fever appears to be one of the symptoms if one is bit by sand flies. We would like to hear from anyone who might have experienced these bits and/or any reactions. We do have concerns with the health issues of these bites and we would like to know of any additional information that anyone could share with us.
Another reason we keep coming back to Breezes is the food

Once we started getting real winter at home it was time for a return trip back to Breezes Bahamas. We decided to make up for the short 4 day trip last November, so we went for 8 days. Our flights were generally on-time and we arrived in Nassau in the early afternoon. Luckily the shuttle departed as soon as we were on board.

On arrival at Breezes we were welcomed by our old friend James, who is one of the security guards. We got to the counter to check in - somehow we were still first in line. Check in seemed to go on forever - but we found out why when we arrived in our room. Some staff members were trying to delay us as they were still decorating our room with balloons and a special note on the bed welcoming us back. When we arrived to our room and saw this we started laughing almost hysterically - but we soon calmed down and went for a beer and some lunch.
We also want to thank the members of staff
For the most part the weather was pretty good with highs in the 79 - 82 range. It rained a couple of nights while we were asleep and one day was a slightly cooler, however it was still warm enough to swim in the ocean and participate in pool aerobics, etc. We played several beach games such as beach golf and beach bowling, etc. One day I won the darts game - which really surprised me! I went to the mixology class which was fun. Reg also went on the bicycle tour a couple of times. While he was gone I chatted with the mechanic who was replacing the wheel guards on the bicycles and generally keeping them in good working order. He was a very interesting character, having lived in both Europe and the US besides the Bahamas. After that I went for a walk around by the tennis courts and along the beach, arriving at reception just in time to see the bike group arriving back at the hotel.

Another reason we keep coming back to Breezes is the food. Everything we ate at either the buffet, beach grill or the a la carte restaurants was excellent! >From conch fritters to roast turkey, steak, pasta and the never ending selection of salads and desserts. The ambiance of both Pastafari and the Garden of Eden make for even more pleasurable meals. We also enjoyed the accompanying wines from Chile.

The best part of our holiday was meeting people from places as far away as Brazil, Argentina, the UK and the US - and quite a large contingent of folks from Canada. We met up with a wedding party, some members of which we previously met through the TripAdvisor Forum - and later watched the wedding from a discreet distance. Hi to Shannon and Chris (the bride and groom), Jeff and Diane, Al, and also to Kris, Becky, Joanne and Gabe, Carol and Jay, and Luiz and Adriana. We really enjoyed meeting and having fun with you all.

We also want to thank the members of staff for making our holiday so much fun - from James, Douglas and Darren at the front steps - Terri, William, Reggie, George, Kim, Marline, Lakeisha, Makeda, Avernal, Tena, Jennipher, Joy, Pink (aka Casanova), Ria, Carleton, Snake, Delvon, Crystal, Jerry, plus Keno in the Garden of Eden and Charles in Pastafari. Our apologies if we have missed anyone.

Now we can start planning our next vacation - destination Breezes Bahamas

Our flight was changed on Skyservice from 6:25am to arrive 9:25 am on the Thursday morning to 4:00 p.m. arriving 7:00 p.m. that night. This I felt was very inconsiderate of the tour operator when the trip is only 4 day. The trip felt really like 3 days and 3 nights but paid for 4 days. The flight was fine . However, I was warned by friends to take extra clothes in a carry on because both of them had their luggage lost on a flight to the Bahamas this last year. Our luggage was fine. In talking to other people on the flight coming back they had their luggage lost and one couple only got their luggage the day before we returned.

We stayed at Breezes Resort and I must say this hotel did not live up to its brochure ads. or promotion from the Tour Operaters. The hotel is rated a 4 star, it should be a 2 or maybe a 3 star. If I had not experience the Breezes in Jamaica I would not have anything to compare- they are 4 star hotel. The night we arrived we were sent to a room, the door was ajar. When we reluctantly opened it there was a bucket on the floor that was catching water from the leaking ceiling. When we attempted to go back to the front desk to report the problem the elevator got stuck, took us to the 8th floor and stopped working. We could not contact anyone because the alarm in the elevator was broken. We managed to get out and had to walk down 8 flights of stairs with our luggage. As we were waiting to get another room we could over hear other guest complaining of things that were broken and in need of repair in there rooms and that their air conditioners were also not working.
Room
When we finally arrived to our room it was clean and so was the bedding. The room had been given new furniture. We asked for a king bed and got two double beds. My husband is 6'3". We were going to ask for a room with a king bed but decided to stay because at least we had air conditioning and just pushed the two beds together. The bathroom was in bad need of repair. The floor was worn and broken, the bathroom counter was cracked and looked like it was put back together with glue. The drapes needed replacing. The carpet was worn but clean.
Food
The food- there was plenty of food but they served the same buffet every day and the lunch and dinner buffet was the same for lunch and dinner. Most of the food was tasty although you had to be selective. The two restaurants, the food was very good but reservation are hard to get. You had to book by 9:00 am the day before and we booked at 9:10 and we were the last people to get reservations- (not really sure how that worked). We decided to out at other places to eat because we got tired of eating the same thing everyday, kind of a waste of money after paying for an all- inclusive.
Entertainment
The entertainment was okay. The problem is that the design of the hotel is open concept and the lobby and entertainment area are not separated, therefore you can smoke where and when ever you like. This is great for smokers but if you are a non-smoker it is very difficult to tolerate. Due to this we did not enjoy or stay around much for any of the nightly entertainment because of the smoke consumption. People would be smoking all around us and it was very unpleasant and difficult to tolerate for the duration of the shows. Again we would leave the hotel and go to seek entertainment at other hotels because they had designated smoking areas. Thankfully there was no smoking in the hotel restaurants or dinning room.
Smokers
We were also amazed about the lack of respect the some of the smokers has for other people, the Island's environment and the beach area.
Despite the hotels staffs efforts at keeping the beach area clean and the signage to request the same, people would but putting there cigarettes out in the sand and just leaving them there.
Pool & Staff
The pool, hot tub, beach grill and bar provided very good service. The conch fritters were excellent.
The Staff and people of the Island- This I would give top marks. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and accommodating and attempted to be helpful as much as they could dealing with the complaints and with providing good service to the guest.
Conclusion
The hotel is in need of renovations and should not be rated on the laurels of the other Breezes Resorts that are truly 4 star or better. I plan to return to the Bahamas as it is a quick get-a -way but I would not stay at Breezes nor recommend to other people until they have completed major renovations to bring it up to par with their other resorts.

Returned last Thursday from a week at Breezes. This was the first time we had stayed there in September and the weather was much better than we had anticipated. Had steady rain for nearly half a day, and a few showers throughout the week. We did not get wet - except when we were in the pool !!
As we arrived in the evening our room was ready, so we just dumped our stuff and went for dinner in the buffet as we had remembered that roast turkey was on that night. It was really good - as was the food and drink for the rest of the week - and especially so in the 2 a la carte restaurants which we had no problem booking. We celebrated my husband’s birthday in Pastafari and were both surprised when a birthday cake was delivered to our table !! (Thanks Terri).
Bar Staff
The bar staff were all helpful, attentive and fun. I was impressed when Reggie the barman in the main lobby bar recommended the best nightcap drink for me after the couple of glasses of champagne I had already drank (to say nothing of the beer through the day). The wrong drink could have given me a nasty headache the next morning, but on his recommendation I was just fine.
Room
We had absolutely no issues with the room, the pool, the facilities and the hotel in general. We did not have an updated room, but one we had actually stayed in previously. It was immaculately clean, in an excellent location, handy to everything, but not noisy. I slept better than at home.
We had lots of fun playing beach games - sometimes won - sometimes came last - and we accumulated quite a few of the tokens which we exchanged for a nice bag and a few other things. Don’t forget to go to the token exchange table (it is open twice a day) and change your tokens for souvenirs - they are a visible memory of your vacation. All the staff - not only those in entertainment - were friendly and helpful and made our holiday yet another memorable experience at Breezes.

One morning we took the #10 bus to downtown Nassau, made a few visits here and there and checked out the stores. We found an excellent deal for a bottle of French Brandy. They even wrapped the bottle in bubble wrap so we could put it in our checked luggage for the return trip - you cannot put it in carry on due to the regulations.

Talking about luggage we made sure everything was put where it should be - however we forgot to put the half-full toothpaste in the checked baggage as it was the last thing we used - and they took it from us. It is not their fault, they have a job to do.
Thanks
Our thanks go to Terri - she is now on reception, to James on security (but not forgetting the evening security guy who is a great dancer - he and I took a few turns in the lobby), Reggie, Carrieanna and the bar staff, all the entertainment group (Pink and Scooby are new), lastly but not leastly the waiting staff in the restaurants, such as Tena who always remembers us from previous visits. We were sorry to leave and go home, but are sure to return yet again and enjoy the facilities and the staff at Breezes. It really is like having a home away from home.

Recently returned from another trip to Breezes Bahamas - we were there from May 13th to 20th. Luckily, we had no problems with our flights, they were all pretty much on time - though I had some reservations about whether our luggage would get there when we changed planes in Charlotte - but all was well and we had our luggage off the carousel in Nassau within minutes. Going outside, the shuttle bus driver to Breezes recognized us and almost as soon as we boarded we were on the way.

Going outside, the shuttle bus driver to Breezes recognized us and almost as soon as we boarded we were on the way.
Room
As it was still only 12:00 noon we went and had lunch and on returning to the desk afterwards our room was ready. We were happily surprised when we were upgraded to an oceanfront room. The room was very large, with tile floors (though we saw rooms on that floor with blue carpet) and had been updated with dark wood furniture in the colonial style. The bathroom was renovated and everything was very clean. We also found a bottle of champagne and a cheese/fruit plate waiting for us which was a nice touch. It was also a very quiet room. With the exception of the night when they had the trapeze show we didn’t hear anything at all. (We were in our room packing anyway - and had a fantastic view of the show).
Food and Drink
Every day we checked the menus by the buffet doors, and if it was not to our taste we went to the reservation desk in reception and saw Terri. She is the girl who books a la carte reservations. She is so friendly and a credit to Breezes. She always manages to accommodate the guests requirements - where she can. We needed to change a reservation one day as we found we had a conflict and wanted to go the next day instead. It was "no problem".
We ate in both a la carte restaurants, plus the buffet which is open for for 3 meals a day and at midnight too - and the beach grill. Plus there is afternoon tea set up in the piano bar at 4:00 pm every day. We did not go hungry!
Kalik and Kalik Light were both available. I didn’t see any other beer this time, we have seen Corona and Bud and Bud Light on previous visits. We did go to the piano bar in the evening this trip, and they may have had some US beers. The South African red and white is back - but we also had a really nice Chilean rose wine with lunch one day - plus the champagne was always available - it is also nice with a couple of maraschino cherries in it (the first one I had in the disco and after that always asked for the cherries). The bars carried top shelf liquor - what I saw was Johnny Walker (Red and Black), Absolute, Crown Royal, Captain Morgan, Bacardi (of course, as there is a plant on the island), Gilbeys, etc.etc.
Entertainment
There is lots to do outside - from the trapeze, the climbing wall, juggling and trampoline clinics, beach and pool volleyball, aerobics, beach bowling, table tennis and regular tennis courts (you can get tennis, windsurfing and waterskiing lessons), horseshoes, marshmallow golf (don’t ask, but it is fun!), bingo, sexy bikini and other various contests, sumo wrestling and bouncy boxing, etc.etc.
Remember, when you participate in the games you can win tokens - which you can then exchange for souvenirs, etc. We made good use of some of our tokens and exchanged for a breezes bag and 3 pictures. We have a few left for next time!
Inside there is a big screen TV - that is fun in the evenings when you are rooting for your team - and pool tables, and ping-pong tables - plus the gym which is just behind the ping-pong tables. The staff put on great shows in the evenings. There is a kareoke night. There is also toga parties, pyjama parties and a comedy night - these are all in the disco. Do not forget Saturday night when there is a Junkanoo Band - not to be missed.
If you are looking for a quiet spot there are hammocks to swing in while relaxing with your loved one, a drink or a book - there are some in a small garden area behind the higher (west) wing, and also some both sides of the east wing.
Weather
The weather was hot but not too humid, however one day it rained all day. It was no problem. The entertainment gang moved indoors.
They set up a bingo marathon - I didn’t win once but my husband won 3 times. (I only won when I played outside!). The pool tables and ping pong were also busy - as was the bar. I found a magazine from the rack by the computers and sat back with a Kalik. It was also great for meeting the other guests and we had some fun conversations with various people. We found, as usual, that the majority of the guests came either from Canada, the UK and USA - with a sprinkling of people from other countries.
Of course we will go back, and as often as possible. If I missed anything, or you have specific questions, let me know and I will try to answer them.

We are regular visitors to the Bahamas, and though we have stayed at several other hotels, our favourite spot is Breezes and in fact are due to go back again in mid-May - and counting down the days!!
We always enjoy our vacations there, in fact it is like going to our second home, starting right at arrival - even before we get to reception - because the security guys welcome us back!! In fact all the bartenders welcome us back too, especially Reggie as he and my husband have the same name. What a duo, always kidding around.
We don't worry about anything while we are there. We just enjoy what is being offered. Good food, good drinks, good entertainment and great staff. The only thing they cannot guarantee is the weather, but looking back over the years we have never had any serious weather conditions. We flew around a hurricane once, but once we arrived we never saw any rain at all. We must live a charmed life.
So, to all those who want to know, here is the real scoop on Breezes.
Firstly

So, to all those who want to know, here is the real scoop on Breezes.
The rooms
The ones we have stayed in (usually on a low floor) were spacious and clean, as were the bathrooms. The housekeeper has always been very obliging if we need something like more towels or tissues, etc. We have never needed to call reception to complain about anything in the rooms.
The food
it is excellent! We always eat in both a-la-carte restaurants, plus the buffet and beach grill ,and we thoroughly enjoy all our meals. We can recommend steak in Eden and the smoked salmon bruschetta and the chicken in Pastafari. However, our favourite is the roast turkey in the buffet. There is such a great selection in the buffet of salads, breads, several entrees, vegeables and those desserts!! We always go for an ice cream sundae late at night.
Drinks
We love Kalik - the Beer of the Bahamas - and there is a light version however sometimes there is also Budweiser and/or Corona. There is top shelf liquor, but as I don't drink that stuff I can't remember what they are, but you can find Crown Royal, Kahlua, Gilbeys Gin, Scotch, etc. Just don't drink the Blackberry Brandy as my name on the bottle LOL.
Pools/Jacuzzi
Lots of fun, with pool volley ball, aerobics for those energetic enough to participate. The jacuzzi is a lot of fun and you meet people from all over.
Entertainment
There is entertainment every night, from fire eaters, kareoke, singers, dancers, etc. Don't miss the Junkanoo Jamboree on Saturday night - the true music of the Bahamas, and if you have the energy go to the disco!!
Games
You wanna play - there is lot of games such as basketball, volleyball (pool or beach), tennis, rock climbing, trapeze, etc. If you want gentler pursuits try beach bowling, beach golf, bingo or mixology classes. If you don't - enjoy watching or read your book or have a drink. If you want to totally relax, try a massage. It is your holiday, enjoy it!
In addition, there is a liquor store, gift shop with clothing and a jewellery store on the main level.

You thought I was finished? No! The best part of Breezes is the staff!!!!! From security to housekeeping, the entertainment crew, the staff in the restaurants, they are the best! James (security), Swish, Craig, Reggie, Jennipher, Kenja, Delvin, Funky D and the photographer - and so many more. These are the people we go back to see and have fun with.

I could go on and on - but you have to see for yourself.

If anyone has specific questions, just post a reply - or directly to us at our email - above.

We had a fast flight from Toronto to Nassau - 2 hours and 20 minutes. Check in was quick too, and we found a bottle of champagne and a cheese and fruit plate awaiting for us in our room.
Rooms
no change that I could see from our last visit in November 2005. I was chatting with the "rasta" guy who does painting and decorating at the hotel and he said some rooms in the higher levels of the west wing had new furniture, and eventually all will be completely updated, redecorated and have the new furniture - colonial style.
Food
excellent! We ate in both a la carte restaurants, plus the buffet and beach grill and we thoroughly enjoyed all our meals, especially steak in Eden and the smoked salmon bruschetta in Pastafari - not to forget the roast turkey in the buffet one night
Drinks
I only saw Kalik (plus the light version) myself but my husband said he saw Budweiser. In the past I have seen Corona. They have changed the house wine from the south african they had on previous visits so I switched to champagne - it went with everything!! You can find top shelf liquor here, especially at the inside bar.
Entertainment
As we usually went to the casino after dinner we missed some of it, but what we saw was very good. A free shuttle to and from the casino goes on the hour from 7 to 12 midnight - the driver says he accepts tips, so if you win .... but don't let him know we told you. Don't miss the Junkanoo Jamboree on Saturday night - it is a total blast - and the true music of the Bahamas.
Beach Games
there is lots to do on the beach. To my surprise I won a couple of games, such as beach golf and beach bowling. I had to concede defeat on some others because other people beat me LOL.
Weather
very good. Saw a couple of rain drops one day, other than that it was about 80F every day, but it was breezy. We still got a tan.
I'd say if you're on a budget for an all inclusive resort

The main bad point of Breezes Bahamas (I'm not sure if this applies to all Breezes) was the "Specials" they have advertised. I booked our week long trip to Breezes Bahamas towards the end of January 2005. When visiting their website, they advertised that if you book by 1/31/2005 and travel by Mid June, you'd pay the same rate for any room (garden, oceanview, oceanfront, etc). When trying to pull up any of the room rates, they all gave the same rate, which was the rate of the cheapest room. The catch that they printed was it was subject to availability.

When trying to pull up any of the room rates, they all gave the same rate, which was the rate of the cheapest room. The catch that they printed was it was subject to availability.

So, if picking a room (like oceanfront), the website seemed to query their database to see if room was available for the duration of the stay. If not, it gave a message that indicated to try another room or date. If it was availble, it allowed you to book that room. So, after searching through the calandar, I found a week that had an oceanfront room available for booking. I went ahead and booked the dates based on this fact, so I ended up choosing 4/10-4/17 to stay at Breezes Bahamas. I received a confirmation letter stating I had an oceanfront room for the week. Due to this special, we decided to try Breezes instead of going to Sandals, in which we have already stayed at another location and enjoyed ourselves.

Arrive on 4/10 at about noon, so after waiting in line in the lobby for about 20 minutes, we were given arm bands and told our stuff could be stored while we went to have a drink and relax til 3pm, when rooms would be available. Returned at 3pm, and once again stood in line for about 20 minutes, to finally get a room. Double checking to see if the room was an oceanfront, I was told that no, it was a garden room. I pulled out my confirmation sheet and asked why I am confirmed for an oceanfront room, and did not receive one. I was told that it was subject to availability, and they had none available for the week.

I then asked to speak to a supervisor, Darrall, and was told the same thing. They said I paid for a garden room, and that's what I was getting. I then asked what was the point of the "special" then, if I could book and get confirmed for a room, but not receive it when I arrive. They again told me my travel agent overbooked, and it wasn't their fault.

I then asked to speak to someone at Superclubs. They led me into the offices, and informed me that I'd have to pay for the call to Jamaica. I told them no I wasn't, because I'm trying to get my reservation straightened out. Finally, they dialed a number, which led me to an automated answering machine at Superclubs, and no one was available to take my call (since it was 4pm on a Sunday). So, my wife talked me into going with it and enjoying our vacation.

So, their specials are mainly meant to draw people to reserve rooms with them, promising whatever rooms they can find dates for. It's not until arrival that the guests are informed of what they mean by "availability".

Now, a quick review of the rest of the stay.
Check in
When arriving at the lobby area, there are two or three people working the front desk. The lobby was always packed during the day with arrivals/departures trying to make it to the front desk. Lines were everywhere, and the wait was typically at least 20 minutes each time. It would have been more helpful if they created one line of inflow, rather than a free for all trying to get to an available person.
Room
Our first room was a 2nd level room, facing the main entertainment area and pool/gardens. During the day and through the night, noise from these areas are clearly heard. We swapped to another room the second day, and requested one of the top three levels on the other side (facing away from the pool). We got one on the seventh floor, and it was much better. Now the only noise were from one room of spring breakers, who seemed to lock one guy out of the room every night. He would bang on the door of his room for half an hour trying to get in. Then, we received a call from him, most likely dialing random numbers on the seventh floor, trying to get his room.
Pool
Pool was fine, still a bit chilly for April, when the sun wasn't beaming down. Towards 6pm, the crew that handled the pool area would rearrange the loungers and tables back to their original spot, even if you were sitting there.
Bars
Bars were pretty slow in service, and didn't always seem to be first come first serve, if people got to know the bartenders. In the main bar near the entertainment area one night, we were standing on one side of the bar waiting for 5 minutes or so. My wife finally flagged a bartender down and asked if we could be helped soon. He said to walk to the other side of the bar and wait instead! She was furious.
Food
Food was decent for buffet food. There was always something one could find each day, and some days were pretty good (and I'm picky on what I think is good food). Decent different variety each day. Service was slow at both the "reservations" restaurants, because it seemed there were two servers for the entire place each time.
Entertainment
Entertainment was ok. There was the main entertainment area near the lobby, that had something going on each night. Piano bar was open each night for sing along, and a disco playing mainly hip hop was available each night.
Overall ratings
I'd say if you're on a budget for an all inclusive resort, then Breezes Bahamas is decent for the money. Keep in mind it allows kids 16 and over to stay, and during March-April, sping breakers will be abundant.

In comparison to Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia, I'd say Breezes is a 3, and Sandals was a 4.5. Would I go back to a Breezes in the future? Probably, but I'm not going to count on the "Specials" to lure me back there again. Would I go back to a Sandals (over a Breezes)? Definitely.

To start with
If you're 18 years old, want to drink all day, and compete in the "best fake orgasm" talent competition at night... then Superclubs Breezes in the Bahamas is the place for you. All others should avoid it like the plague.
Travel
The best part of the whole trip! The flight down with Sky Service was fine. The plane took off on time, and the staff were very friendly. Typical charter flight with no leg room. However, the plane was clean, and the boxed snack they gave us was better than having to buy Pringles on Air Canada Tango flights.
Arrival
Arrived on time. No difficulties with customs people. Got in a little bus with a really nice, funny driver who took us to the hotel. He also doubles as a real estate agent, and tried to sell us a vacation property on the way into town.
Check in was TERRIBLE. One person was working at the desk, and it took an hour to get our key. The lobby was extremely noisy, and when we arrived there was a "Best Fake Orgasm" competition going on in the main area just beyond the reception desk. No, I'm NOT joking!! A whole room full of "When Harry Met Sally" wannabes kept us colourfully entertained for a whole hour. After that, I really needed a drink.
Room
We went up to our room, and it was damp and moldy. No kidding... MOLDY. Picture the kind of room you expect people to rent by the hour. Also, no mini-bar. No fridge. And a "balcony" that was literally 6 inches wide. Picture patio doors that slide open, and a waist-high railing to keep you from falling out of your room. We were eventually moved to a ground-floor room with a tile floor (not carpet) and nice high ceilings. Better, but the curtains wouldn't close all the way, and the sliding patio doors didn't lock reliably.
Decor
The whole place was tile and vinyl. Literally, furniture you can throw up on. Tried in vain to find a nice quiet corner to have a drink. No such luck. Had to go down the road to the Ramada, which has a great, cozy lobby bar. We saw a fantastic local band there, and enjoyed the dance floor. I am not a quiet person, but the Breezes was just harsh, slick, and LOUD.
Grounds
The pools were very nice, and the beach was clean. No troubles getting deck chairs. Service at the outdoor bars was mediocre at best. Fast if you wanted the blender drink the bartender had in his hand. Slow and sulky if they had to make you what you really wanted.
Food
No real complaints. Typical buffet food. Nothing special. However, it looked like the hotel had sold meal plans to it's administrative staff. There were tons of people eating there who were clearly not staying at the resort.
Customer Relations
A few days into our stay, I was called home for a family emergency. I tried to call home, and there were NO PAYPHONES in the hotel lobby (note: Bell Mobility does not have any cel phone coverage in Nassau). The less than friendly hotel staff directed me to the closest payphone... located outside on the median strip in between four lanes of traffic. I couldn't hear a thing, and made my way to the next closest payphones... in the lobby of the Ramada.

I returned to Breezes, and asked the staff at the front desk to help me contact the Sunquest Rep to see if I could get an earlier flight home. They didn't have a phone number for the Sunquest rep, and the Sunquest phone number I found in the phone book was out of service. Eventually, I made my way to the airport, and flew home to Toronto on American Airlines. Thanked my lucky starts for travel insurance that day.
Attractions
The best thing about Breezes was the fact that it is only 15 minutes away from Atlantis, a truly spectacular resort with an incredible aquarium that must have been put together by a Hollywood set designer. Well worth the trip. You can take a boat over from the downtown waterfront for about @ $5 American per person. Fun, but the boat runs on Island time. We had to wait @ 1/2 an hour for the boat to fill up, while the skipper had a drink ashore. Still, lots of fun.
Overall
Superclubs Breezes was AWFUL -- and I'm trying to be positive. If you've been to other Breezes resorts (like the one in Cuba which is wonderful) this is nowhere close to the same thing in terms of quality, style and hospitality. If you have the money, save yourself some grief and book at a better resort.

Returned on Thursday from a week's stay at Breezes Bahamas. We have been there several times before and things have not changed - we had a fabulous time!
It is just so nice being greeted at the entrance as if we were long lost friends. This happened a lot during the week as we met so many staff who remembered us, beginning with check in where we found that we were assigned a room exactly where we would want to be. On arrival at the room we were greeted by a chilled bottle of champagne.
We spent most of our time by the pool, playing beach games, with regular excursions to the bar and snack bar to keep up our strength. We dined well at all the restaurants. We even won a few bucks at the casino.
All in all a very satisfactory vacation, with plans for 2 weeks in November.

Seeing some poor revoews we were alittle nervous about waht we would find here. We were PLEASED! Rooms modest but big enuff and clean. Food always good, different and hot. Bartenders were speedy and the the premium brand drinks is always a plus. Tons of activities. The local #10 bus down town is the cheapest and best way to go. I would reccommend this resort to anyone - have been to Bahamas/Paradise Island now 6 times. Would definitely come back to Breezes!
They are an honest, friendly people who are a joy to visit with.

After a recent visit to New Providence/Paradise Islands in the Bahamas I would recommend staying away from Atlantis. The overwhelming construction of the resort is the most impressive, after that it's not worth your money. And out of all there is to see and do in the area why hang out in such a commercialized environment when there are many places that cater to the local fares and entertainment? We just came back from 5 days at Breezes Club on Cable Beach. We enjoyed the free food & spirits as well as the staff who are welcomed and encouraged to may your stay as pleasant and entertaining as possible. The lounge singer alone would be worth high priced premium liquor but its all included so you can't even tip the guy! I also would recommend to anyone to jump on the local bus system, talk to folks and listen to their suggestions on food and shopping. They are an honest, friendly people who are a joy to visit with.

Myself and two friends flew from Toronto on Jan 22, 2004 to Nassau and we had a ball !!!!
Flight
The flight (Skyservice) going and coming were OK. On our way there we had a 40 min delays because there were a back long of planes waiting to de-ice. But once in the air, we made up the time arriving only about 15 mins later than scheduled.
Front Desk
Check in was a "Breeze", we had no trouble, you have to give a credit card in case there are charges to the room (telephone), but this is ripped up in front of you when leaving. Also one night my friends who had the room keys ditched me, needless to say I had no key and the front desk were very nice, they sent someone to my door with a spare key to open it for me at 4:20 AM....that right in the morning!!!

Staff
All of the staff wish you "good morning", most were friendly and helpful, especially if you ask something from the food servers.
Room
It was standard, nothing fancy, the balcony door was stuck, someone came up to try and fix it but we didn't have enough muscle to move it, plus the balcony was really just a few inches in length. The toilet in our room did stop going, but we got used to that, if you jiggle it a bit it stopped. The room isn't to die for but then who goes to Nassau to stay in the room right!!! But it was clean and there were fresh towels each morning and the room was always made up nicely when we came back to the room to crash!!!
Food
The food was amazing. The buffet was really good for all meals. There is lots of variety and something for everyone. They even have an ice-cream machine in the buffet. There is a snack bar between the beach and the pool. Be sure to try the fish fingers they are really tasty. We tried both restaurants Eden and Pastafari both were excellent, friendly and fast service, and are both had four course dinners. Be sure to book them ahead of time. The food at Breezes definitely made the vacation for us!!! The drinks are good and strong!!!
Beach/Pool
The beach had some seaweed by the waters' edge but it was nice and clean on the beach, lots of beach chairs. There is a towel service during the whole day. HOWEVER, just be warned that now is their winter, and the water is cold for both the beach and pool...only the jacuzzi next to the pool was nice and warm. We spent most of the time out of the water....but it was ok because we tanned and went to Atlantis
Weather
This was the only draw back in Nassau, in the evenings a sweater is needed right now. Apparently March/April are their best months.
Entertainment
The entertainers keep guest busy with games and activities during the day and shows every night. The are friendly, fun and interact well with the guests. The on-site disco is hopping from 12 AM to 5 AM and the drinks are good and free there too.
Side Trips
Make sure to take a Trip to Atlantis Hotel and pay the $25 for the tour, it is amazing, you see sharks, sting rays, schools of fish etc etc it was fantastic. We took the number 10 bus from in front of the hotel, the fare cost $1.00 US (bring exact change) which drops you downtown. You can either walk to the Ferry dock and pay $3.00 each way, to go over to Paradise Island with is where Atlantis is or pay a taxi $4.00 to drive over the bridge. We did both we went by Taxi and came back by Ferry both were enjoyable.
I also talked one of the guys on the beach to take out a wave runner for 10 mins which cost me $20 US...normal prices are about $120 US per hour!!! This was a really memorable experience and will definitely try it again.

I would definitely go back to Nassau (but when the weather is a little warmer) and definitely stay at the Breezes again. It was a fun and terrific experience!!!!!!!

I just got back from the Bahamas Sunday November 23. I stayed at Breezes from Wednesday until Sunday. I was more than happy with this hotel. I was a little worried seeing some bad reviews with this hotel but when i got there I was loving it. I arrived on a Wednesday and I got there around 12:30. I read that they were strict with the check in times, but they gave me my room as soon as I got there. Maybe because I arrived in the middle of the week. And when we were walking to the front desk one of the staff members ran over to give us drinks. We were tired when we got there so we slept most of the day. We headed down to the buffet the first night and I was impressed with the food. It was good for a buffet. We ate at Eden twice. That is a must!!! Their food was excellent and the atmosphere was different and very nice. I had an oceanview which was very nice, I had a view of the pools and the beach. Everything was clean and the staff was so nice. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way for you. I visited Atlantis it is a beautiful hotel, but I found that the place is so big and the staff is not as warm as those at Breezes. I would go and stay at Breezes again cause I liked it a lot.

I would like to add my review of the Superclubs Breezes Resort in Bahamas. My family (my wife, two sons, and me) visited this "Resort" in September of 2003. We knew we were taking a slight chance going in September with that being hurricane season but thought we would be OK. Wrong! weather was lousy, rain every day for most of the afternoon, cloudy and overcast much of the other times. The weather would have been tolerable if the resort would have been better in other aspects. The service is horrible and the rooms are on par with a cheap motel. The food is lousy and lacks only one thing, flavor!

As one of your other reviewers noted, the check-in time is three o'clock and the staff will not even try to get anyone in before that time. They had two people working the check-in desk on our arrival and both were surly and approaching rudeness. All other staff obviously has not had any training regarding customer service because they all displayed an attitude reflective of disdain and dislike for the patrons. I was disappointed and would highly recommend NOT choosing this resort!
We are already planning a return in November

Just returned from a great trip to Nassau and stayed at Breezes Bahamas. We have stayed there several times before and have never figured out why people have any complaints.
Getting There
Flew from Toronto via Skyservice. Good flight. Food abysmal. We received a cardboard box with a still chilled slice of banada bread, a small fruit cup, coffee which was hot and one other item which I forget. We didn't mind that so much because we knew that soon we would be having a great buffet lunch at the hotel. The return trip was dinner. I hoped for something hot. Not so. We received another cardboard box with what they told us was a - still chilled - chicken in a green (spinach?) wrapping. I am not a fussy eater but it was horrible - one taste and it went back into the cardboard box. We also received a small pasta salad, pretzels and coffee
The Room
It was spacious and clean, with what looked like brand new dark blue carpeting. The maid was very pleasant and if we needed anything (like an extra pillow) it was there also immediately. We had plenty of closet and drawer space, TV with plenty of channels; a CD player (took 2 CD's and never had time to play them!!). The bathroom was super clean, ony comlaint I have is that there are no bars in the bath/shower area so if one slipped there is nothing to grab, however they did provide a bath mat so you don't slip.
The Food
You can never go hungry at Breezes. The buffet was excellent - even more so than our last visit 6 months ago. Breakfast was good as always - omelletes, eggs any way you want them. At lunch and dinner through the 4 days we ate roast beef, steak, roast turkey, roast pork, local fish delicacies, a greal variety of salads, etc. plus the Beach Grill was good too with jerk chicken, burgers, fries, etc. We also ate at the Pastafari Italian Restaurant - also excellent. Did not have time to eat at the Garden of Eden - next time I guess.
The resort is carrying a different wine now. One from South Africa. My favourite is the Red called Pearly Bay (a Cape Red) though the White and Rose were excellent too. I did not have time to try out the Sparkling Wine.
Facilities
There is something for everyone at Breezes Bahamas - from just lying around with a book, to the exercise room, games, entertainment, and just having fun, which is really the best part.
Weather
One day we had a series of showers go through but other than that it was hot, hot, hot - sometimes more humid than others. We got a good tan, which is already peeling away due to a lack of enough sunscreen. Make sure you take at least a 30 !!
Flight Back
Due to the weather conditions we had some turbulence approaching Toronto - aparently they had a dandy storm - but our touch down was smooth as silk. Nassau to Toronto - 2 hrs 35 mins. Now that is a good pilot!
Comment
Needless to say this is our favourite resort, though we have been to other Breezes. We are already planning a return in November.

We just got back from Breezes and we just loved it. We went for my daughters wedding with 40 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. They did a great job for the wedding and it was beautiful. The people working at the hotel were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I have been to many all-inclusives and I thought the buffet food was some of the best I've had. We never had a problem with reservations at the other two restaurants as long as you did it the day before. The beaches were very nice . Many of the people are already making plans to go back. At night they put on a show that wasn't the greatest but then the band came on for dancing. If you didn't like that you could go the piano bar and then the disco opened at 10:00 and that was fun too. We never had a problem getting drinks at any of the bars and they even had frozen machines that you serve your own frozen drinks and just pour in your own rum. I have never seen that before and alot of our guests loved that We would go back again because of all the things we liked about the resort and how friendly the people were.
It's nice to get away to a wonderful resort

My Husband and I started to go to Breezes when it first opened in the early 90's. This was our 4th. trip to the resort. We got there Sept. 19th. and stayed till Thurs. Sept. 22nd. I would definitely recommend 4 nites instead of 3. The last time we were at the resort was about 7 years ago. We wanted to go to other all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. O.k. so about the resort. Since we had been there before we had our travel agent call them a few weeks ago to get us an up-grade if possible? They said it would-dependon the availability? We got it! I mentioned it again at the very quick check-in. We got there at noon and our room was not ready til 3. So we had a few drinks and took in the gorgeous view. Our room was 421 a nice garden/ocean view. The room was in good condition but the air-conditioning was not at all good. So we called the front desk and they gave us a large fan. I know that sounds tacky but we only slept in our room. We loved the room and we promised our selves to enjoy our timr there and eachother herricane Rita was on the outskirts of the island it rained lots the first day. The following days were fantastic! The food at Pastafari and Eden was super! The drinks are all high end. The beer selection is Kalik the island beer or Miller Light. That's it! There are so drinks to choose from - Bahama Mama's - Dirty Banana's-Bay Breezes-ect. Johnny Walker (RED)(BLACK). and more. I'd like to tell folks who are coming down to Breezes do bring down a large thermal container! Less trips from the beach. My husband and I needed some down time and fun. We got both. It's nice to get away to a wonderful resort that provides everything you need so all you have to do is enjoy! You will not be disappointed. Yes the rooms are a bit dated but the pool and the ocean front is pristine. Have no worries. You spent your monies wisely. Opppps we had a blast at the piano bar and went to the Crystal Palace and won! That never happened in Atlantic City! Be confident in your choose of resort. Pure fun and relaxation.
