Portifino Resort René ~ Canada
March 2007

A marvelous stay in a beautiful resort. Whe are respectively 50 and 58 years old en came from Belgium Europe in the month of februari 2007. We stayed for two weeks at the new mansion (first floor).

The accomodation was just perfect : clean, comfortable , peacefull, cosy and well situated.

The view from the covered terras on the seasite was breathtaking!

We really enjoyed the breakfast and several meals at the restaurant.

The bar, recently extended with an outdoor bar was just the thing for having a nice Belikin beer, a cocoloco or any of the many coctails !

We would like to congratulate owners and staff for the efforts they make every day to indulge their guests!

We felt like being in paradise!

We will certainly visit Portofino again!

Portifino Resort Gary & Jeanie ~ Minneapolis, MN
February 2007

We just got back to Minneapolis on Saturday from a great week on Ambergris Caye. Getting to the final destination is a journey all by itself, but well worth it.

We arrived in Belize City and had a short stay waiting for our "puddle jumper" to Ambergris Caye (AC) via Mayan Air. We had to stop at Caulker Caye to pick up 3 golfers that were going back to AC.

Arriving at San Pedro (SP) we took a taxi to Fido's dock to take our boat ride to Portino. We had to wait a little while and had a great cold bottle of Bellikens beer while waiting.

We arrived at our Resort, Portifino and were greeted by cool towels and a refreshing punch. Our Cabana was one of the 3 large suites they have along with their standard cabanas. The suite was on stilts and had french doors along the front of the entrance. The bed was adorned with orchids and was surrounded by a large netting. The ceilings had to be 25 ft thatched? roofs.

Nice large rooms with plenty of room and a large rainfall shower head in the bathroom.

The food was very good at the LeBistro restaurant and quite a few other resort people had dinner there. Especially on Valentines Day. We ate dinner several times at Fido's in SP and had great meals there also.

The lobster season just ended on our last nite there, so we were able to get some pretty good meals there. The blackened Grouper at Fido's was one of the better I have had.

We took 2 of the tours, one to Altan Ha Ruins and the Sunset Cruise. Both were very nice.

Overall this was a fantastic experience for both of us and would recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy some relaxation and some good food and cold drinks. Very nice place to visit and enjoyable people.
