The location is a bit far from the Varadero airport, about 1hr and some minutes but it is about 40 minutes from the Jose Marti international airport. I loved the place because of its combination of culture, beach and sunlight in a city known for its history and tradition. At first glance, the hotel looked small but has amazing facilities and services on the inside. I loved the fact that is was situated right on the Santa Maria del Mar beach that has crystal clear waters and it is surrounded by beautiful natural environment. Three buildings make up this hotel and each of them has about two floors and I stayed in the second building, I loved every moment of my stay in this hotel. I was in Havana for my annual vacation in August of 2013 and decided to stay in this hotel considering the good reviews I heard from people who have been here before. The all inclusive package at this hotel during my stay included a welcoming cocktail, day and night entertainment, free bar which included both local and imported drinks. I loved every bit of my stay here. The rooms are beautifully decorated with every amenity that you will need. Housekeeping was daily and the housekeeping staff was so nice to me. The entire hotel staff that I met were all nice and polite and extremely helpful as well. The prices where not so expensive compared to other grand hotels I have been to and the meals served were also great.

I stayed a week in Arenal Nov, 2006.
A great place...older to be sure....but homey.
The staff were more then one could hope for...willing and always oblidging.
Their strongest suit is their tour rep....Elias Valor. A gentleman that works very hard to please. good food/ beach/ sun and pleasant folk....what more does one want on vacation???
One sour note....their bed pillows are terrible! To small and not enough.
