Had a wonderful dinner, lobster tails for boyfriend and peppercorn steak for me. Both came with baked potato, vegetables and coleslaw. Approx $35 US, Could not believe how quiet it was. Apparently local resorts telling people it is not safe, but we have never had a problem or felt threatened. Nice romantic setting.

Chris and Maddy absulutely amazing! This is a family owned estabishment, with a wonderful retaurant directly across from the beach. Great atmosphere, very roomy, fantastic food, and excellent service. They also own Apartment Villas which are attached to the restaurant, very private, and beautiful pool in the back.
Chris is there every day, and always there to greet you with a friendly smile. This is a Dominican / Canadian owned business. Everyone who works there, speaks great english and spainish.
This place to me was home away from home. I could not have asked for a better experience. :)

Chris and Mady's is a great restaurant near Puerto Plata, on the Cofresi Road. Our family had a wonderful meal here, and we recommend it highly. The service was excellent, the setting is beautiful, the prices are very reasonable ... but it is the skill in the kitchen which would make this high on our list no matter what. Almost anyone can grill a steak or make a burger, but when a kitchen knows how to select and prepare fresh vegetables, and how to select and prepare fresh fish, then you know you are on to something. The menu on their website doesn't show the fish dishes, but that is where to turn at Chris and Mady's .. either the 'cajun' spices or the amazing deft use of garlic is almost sure to please even the finicky. The Puerto Plata area isn't exactly covered in good places to eat that are reasonably priced. This is a good find.
