steve's bar is a local spot which is perfect for a couple of beers after a long day at the beech or golf course. service with a smile and beers are cold...

I would encourage anyone staying in an all inclusive in Bavaro / Punta Cana to leave the resort one evening or afternoon, and go to Steve's Bar for a drink. The place is very safe, in a busy area, and the new owners (expat americans) go out of their way to ensure everyone has a good time.
Met a number of fun locals, expats and tourists.

great local bar to go have a beer. very relaxing. i have been 3 times to steve's bar. my small vacation from the resort life. last time, i biked to the bar for a few beers. great to go right after lunch - meet locals who live down in punta cana (they have usually just finished a round of golf). good guys to meet as they get much cheaper rounds of golf than tourists.
great place to sit and people watch or chat with some new friends.

First off, the previous reviewer must have stayed at another Steve's, because this place has always been clean each and every time we visited it, and we have been there MANY times.
The waitstaff, especially Carla is very attentive and friendly.
The beer is exceptionally cold, and the mixed drinks are generously poured.
Yes, there is no actual 'grill' on site, but food is brought in from next door if you want hot food.
We would have NO PROBLEM in recommending this bar to anyone.
This bar is owned by a German/Canadian who is there daily to look after his clients.

This is a bar... no food, and a bad one. Noisy and dirty, overpriced
