Calle 1ra. e/ 56 y 58, Parque Josone. Matanzas.
The Dante Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants in Varadero serving up Italian cuisine in a gorgeous setting.
Located in the Parque Josone —a nine hectares jewel of beautiful local flora— the restaurant looks over the the Lago de Paz lake. The restaurant is located in what was the first house built here by José Fermín Iturrioz Michelena who ran the Arechabala Rum Company.
The house specialties are pastas, especially the lasagne, and offer a full range of other Italian foods from pizzas to seafood dishes. The bar serves up cocktails from Cuba and around the world and has an ample wine list.
Don’t miss sitting outside on the balcony surrounded by the beautifully kept gardens of the park and sprawling over the lake. The house itself is worth the trip to observe the beautiful architecture and stain glass windows.
Before or after your meal, the park offers a lovely place for a stroll or for a boat ride around the lake. The restaurant is very close to the Varadero Museum of History, also well worth a visit.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see why this is one of the favourite restaurants for travellers to Varadero.
Reservations are not essential and the restaurant accepts Visa and MasterCard.

We have been to Veradero many times and each time we make a point of eating at Dante's. It is an Italian Restaurant in a beautiful park. We always reserve the outside seating which is on a veranda over the water. We have always had very good food, excellent service and great wine choices. The staff are all excellent. We are going again this year, in a week Jan 31/11 ... and will once again be going to eat at Dante's.
Their lasagna platter with a mix of italian is very good and you only need to order one between two people. Their minestrone soup is also very good. We have never ordered anything we did not like!
