San Ignacio # 54 on the corner with Empedrado, Plaza de la Catedral, Ciudad de la Habana
The restaurant El Patio, emblematic center of our traditional culinary art, is set in the very heart of Old Havana's Historical Center.
This 18th century mansion was the former palace of the Marquis of Aguas Claras III, a beautiful stately house with a light baroque façade, the stunning stained glasswork, the large colonnade and the central courtyaRestaurant El Patio is situated on the east side of the Plaza de Catedral near the magnificent Catedral de San Christobal widely considered as the best example of the Baroque style in Cuba. The restaurant was established in 1968 on the ground floor of the premises. The studios of Cuban artists like Victor Manuel García and José Luis Posada occupied the second floor. El patio hosts special events like Middle Eastern Belly dance performances on Friday nights and spectacular new year dinners when the complete square is being turned in one big dining room. The restaurant offers special menus for children as well as vegetarians and can even provide a gluten free meal on request. Salón de Marqués offers grill specialties like a sirloin steak (16 CUC) while Salón de Fuente serves the more delicate dishes like the fish filet, stuffed with spinach accompanied by a mustard and pineapple sauce (16 CUC). El Patio is a great choice for vegetarians and people with specific dietary needs for whom it is recommended to call in advance.
