Hanoi Information

Traditionally known as "The House of the Vine" for the beautiful vine that grows in its inner courtyard, this smal 17th century colonial house is a nice and welcoming restaurant specializing in Cuban dishes and Vietnamise fried rice. Located on a corner of Santo Cristo Square, a place of traditions and processions dating back to 1640, the Hanoi rekindles Havana's fonda (cheap diners) with their abundantly served, tasty and cheap food.

The restaurant has two lounges, an inner courtyard and a bar where you can enjoy the most refreshing drinks in the shade of the vine to the beat of live Cuban tradicional music. A short distance away from the national Capitol building, this picturesque house with its red roof tiles warmly welcomes its visitors.

the place is very well renovated
food is good

but when come the time to pay they put the bread on the list to pay, the glass of wine included in the menu was also counted, and the most surprising they put 10% for service what was not written on the menu and what is not a habit in CUba. the note was also very bad written to make sure you can not check anything, there was only a total price and no detailled prices.

so they tried to let us pay 12cuc more but we discussed it and wrote the note again demonstrating they were thiefs and that we will inform tourism office. we paid the bread but never the so "called service"
