Calle 17 between M and N
Restaurant Emperador is a relatively small restaurant
located on the ground level of the magnificent Focsa building, which was build between 1954 and 1956. At that time Focsa was the second largest concrete structure in the World, build with the use of only one single crane. Once you enter the dim lit bistro style dining room you forget that you are in Vedado, one of Havana’s busiest districts. Main courses are moderately priced between 6 CUC and 24 CUC for the Lobster. Some of the dishes, which caught my attention, are the Grilled Shrimp (8 CUC), The chicken with Lemon and honey (6 CUC) and the grilled filet Mignon with 2 sauces (8.75). Every night you can enjoy live music by either a pianist or a guitar/violin duo (call). Restaurant Emperador serves as a fine alternative for the exclusive Bar-Restaurant El Torre on the 33rd Floor, which we recommend for an after dinner drink or coffee. An incredible view awaits you there.
