We just got back from one week in Honduras, we spent 2 nights at the Lodge at Pico Bonito, and 5 nights at the Henry Morgan Resort in Roatan. We flew from Toronto direct to La Cieba, with Skyservice, the flight was great, we arrived 20 minutes early. The Conquest rep. was waiting for us, and in 5 minutes we were on our way to Pico Bonito, after about 20 minutes drive, we arrived at the lodge.
Lodge at Pico Bonito: The front desk, the lodge has a feel of a bed and breakfast, they were waiting with cold drinks, when we arrived, they had our names, and room key, we got a tour of the resort from one of the girls at the front desk, when we arrived in our room, our luggage was waiting there for us. The room had 2 queen size beds, beautiful decor, ceiling fans, all the rooms are in cottages, so we had a front porch, with a hammack, chairs, table. Just beautiful.
The food: The restaurant was as wonderful as the view, and the setting of the lodge. Our first night, we arrived at about 8p.m. and we didn't want to eat too much, we just had snacks. Breakfast was included with the package, again you could pick whatever you wanted, it was all great, I can still taste the French toast, they were great..The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and drink you were getting.
We did a nature walk with a guide from the lodge, which was great, we saw lots of birds, got to swim in a nice river, we even saw a coral snake. We realy love the lodge, it was a 5 star as far as I'm concerned.
