hotel is located with view of harbour, but there's nothing to look at just open sea, outside hotel all the roads have been ripped up for major roadworks, this hotel was just full of prostitutes and scamsters and hustlers,i was very disapointed with this hotel sercurity just let anyone in to hotel, when i and other guests were sitting at the bar, hustlers would come in to hotel and hang around, they would sit next to you at the bar start conversation then hustle you,i was personley scammed out of 170 cuc £100 english on my first day by someone who hangs around the hotel claiming to be sercurity there,i went to reception and asked for the police to be called nothing was done, the hotel has a nightclub downstairs which is full of prostitutes, security at this hotel take bribes for customers to bring hookers up to their rooms, the bar area where they served food was over run with cochroaches, staff who worked at the bar were very rude, and would ignore you when u wanted a drink, the only good thing about this hotel was the pool on the 6th floor, which was full of old men with young cuban girls....i was very upset by the way i was treated by staff at this hotel, talking to other guests at the hotel it seems that everyone was having the same problems as me,the women on the money exchange on the 1st floor would not tell you the exchange rate but would just change your money and hand it to you,she was one of the rudest people ive ever met,she had a computer showing all the different exchange rates but when you exchanged your money you would not get the advertised rate...

At first I thought the water fall from floor 12 down was pretty cool, until I figured out that it was a broken pipe. Pretty scary elevator ride in the one working elevator to our 10th floor room. And stunning view, our room was 1005 and we have beuatiful views of the sunrises. The room was not clean, my reall beef along with the folks who were knocking on our teenage boys to see if they need company for the night. The biggest thing they need to do is clean the hotel, ( besides stop offering comfort.)...the windows would reveal fabulous views of the Melancon and street life, if they were cleaned inside and out. Hot water was available occasionally if you let water run for awhile. Also the safes in rooms did not have locks....kinda a negative 100

First. I think when you pay for a room it should be a nice room that won't make you think about the posiblilities of mises or cucarachas. The wood frames in the bathroom were all deteriorated and black, the shower courtine was all with yellow spots, seams derty. The toilet was cracked. Otherwise the breakfast was good and the everyday cleaning was good. At least my room diden't have a Phone to make locals phonecalls and did not have a little fridge to coll the water I keet for my self for the middle of the night. The staff is very nice, but need more training. When I arrive the gave me my room but never explain to me the aminities the hotel offer. I new the hotel has a pool, beacause I lived around the area many years ago, plus everything I read in the internet. I know is Cuba, pero no aprieten!

Rooms are ok, but I missed more then 1 towel. The only problem I had is that the guards on the door always made a problem with my friend because he is cuban. For the rest a nice 2 star hotel. Ok for a few days but I would not stay there for more then 4 or 5 days. It was in the street of the Casa the la Musica and that was nice ofcourse.

LOCATION IS GOOD. HOWEVER ALTHOUGH YOU ARE NEAR THE SEA IT IS NOT A BEACH NEARBY.

THE POOL IS GOOD IN THE MORNING, THEN YOU BEGIN TO SEE CUPS,CANS,ETC THROWN IN BY LOCALS PAYING TO USE IT.

MOST STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND THE TOUR SECTION WAS HELPFUL. ALL IN ALL, A GOOD SPOT TO SEE HAVANA.

The hotel is quite well located by the coastal street Malecon with easy access to most part of Havana though access to the hotel is currently blocked by construction (Nov 2011). The hotel facilities are very old. Staff are not friendly except when receiving tips. Breakfast is dull, Wifi is not available anywhere like in most hotel in Cuba.

The hotel is acceptable if you don't expect special services. One of the two elevators broke down on the first day of our stay which made the following 4 days awkward since the staff had to use it too. Breakfast buffet was adequate but the dinner had to be taken at the swimming pool cafeteria. Limited choice but good. Main problem: nearly no shade at the pool. Location very good. Overall the hotel can be recommended for budget travelers.

Room Number:
1407

Arrival:
Fast check in, no problems. very friendly receptionists

Rooms:
basic furniture, bathroom clean and always hot water

Restaurants and Bars:
Bar had sufficient choice of drinks, barmen/woman quite helpful

Beach/Pools/Grounds:
Pool nearly no shade otherwise fine.

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel:
No special activities in the hotel and outside of it you create your own activities-no problem in Havana

We stayed at the Deauville for 2 nights in March 2005. The Deauville has a marvelous location. Right on the Malecon (Havana's sea promenade) it is a perfect location as you are in a walking distance of Old Havana. From our room we had a marvelous view of the promenade and the sea. Of course, the Deauville has it's defects. The shower head acted funny (the water jet was actually horizontal) and when we took a shower the whole room's floor would get wet, the water getting out of the shower, and out of the bathroom in the room. The beds were way too soft, I was actually sinking in them. Cleaning service is ok. Be prepared, breakfast is discusting. The Deauville is a great hotel in Havana. It's perfect location compenses the fact the accomodations are somehow problematic. Since we had the flexi fly and drive program, we paid 1000$ (CAN) for a week with a car rental included. This made the Hotel Deauville a great deal in Havana.

Séjour du 8 au 18 fév. 2010. 2 ascenseurs fonctionnels. Voilà...enchanté!
