Beachside Villas Gloria and Joe
May 2007

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary in St Maarten from April 14th thru April 22, 2007. We both agree that it is the best vacation that we ever took. We have been to other islands and to Europe and we have never had a more relaxing/exciting trip.

We stayed at the Beachside Villas. We couldn't have asked for more. The villas were clean, fully equipped, and had wonderful staff. We felt so much at home. We stepped out our doorwall to the ocean and for those who don't like to swim in the ocean, there was a beautiful, clean pool that we used daily.

Shopping was a highlight especially since I like jewelry. Phillipsburg was a great place to shop with great deals. A place in Maho called Jewels and Linens also had some great deals. Anil took care of us and was always pleasant and explained things very well. I was a little nervous purchasing jewelry over there, but as soon as I got back to the states, I took it in and it was appraised for double of what I paid for it. Felt like I hit the jackpot. The jewelry is also very unusual. You won't see things like it in the states.

Dining was also a highlight. Our favorite restaurants were: La Gondola, Laguna, Pineapple Petes and Saratoga. We ate at the French Bistro in Maho one night. Food was good, but service was very slow.

We have decided if people come to this island and don't enjoy themselves then there is something wrong with them. There is so much to do and if you don't want to do anything you can just relax and enjoy. We have already made our reservations to return next year and this will definitely be our yearly Spring Vacation from now on.

I could go on and on about things to do and places to go, but time is limited. All we can say is we can't wait to return to St Maarten our newfound Paradise.
