Arrival
arrival at the airport was long, lots of people and two customs, luggage rack was full with bags because people could not get through customs. Arrival at hotel was great, warm cloth, cold beer and expedited check in.
Rooms
room was excellent, clean and very nice. good layout. Maid service was not always prompt and sometimes the room was not done at all. Fridge was always stocked with drinks. Washroom was perfect.
Restaurants and Bars
getting drinks was a hit and miss. You did not always get what you asked for.
restaurant staff were under staffed but tried very hard to take care of you. Food was very good and there was plenty of it. Bar staff would wash glasses at the bar, under the tap to get glasses cleaner than the dishwasher. Water was not sterilized.
Beach/Pools/Grounds
the management closed two pools for a day to take propaganda pictures. There was not enough space around the existing pools for all the people. The resort was short on shade. You had to be up at 7 am to reserve a chair and shade around the pool. The pool water was well looked after. Could use hand rails to get in/out of pools.
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel
tours were the same as other resorts. We took a cab to town a few times and that was good.
Other Comments
signature staff were not very good. She did not care about quest concerns and would argue when asked a question. We were promised the whole resort would be completed when we booked. The Japanese restaurant was still closed and was not open every day, we were told this was a staff issue. The gym and spa did not open at all during our stay. Closing the pools for pictures was was not a smart move as many people were angry and signature did not care. E-mails to signature and dreams are un answered.
the staff tried very hard to do a good job. More staff are needed and signature must get there act together for there customers. Responded to customer question should be done from both signature and dreams.

March 2009
Arrival: February 20 to March 6
We left Edmonton on Skyservice and stopped in Saskatoon to change crew and pick up passengers. The Signature reps met us at the airport and with a little confusion with the busses we arrived at our resort. We were greeted with warm face cloths, champagne, beer and water. Our rooms were already assigned and we were off to our rooms with a package of information about the resort.
Rooms
The rooms were clean and neat. We requested a king size bed but had two double beds. The view from the balcony was wonderful... the bay, beach and the resort. We were in room 3551. Cleaning of the rooms was irratic at best but was done well. The fridge was filled daily with beer, pop, fruit juice and water. The showers were great.. a large rain shower head and a hand wand.. with endless hot water. Your welcome package included shower gel, shampoo and creame rinse, sun tan lotion, razor and shaving cream, q tips and a shower cap. It was nice. We also had wi fi in our room free of charge as a preferred guest.
Restaurants and Bars
The World Cafe (main buffet) was excellent food and were quick to seat you. There was lots of choice and very friendly staff. The a-la-cartes were all very good depending on your tastes. Sometimes they were a little disorganized. At one sitting they brought all our courses at once. This should get better with time and experience. It was nice not to have to prebook the a-la-carte restaurants. You just showed up. The bars were all very good. They would make you anything you want. They even had clamato juice. The 6th floor preferred lounge had Crown Royal, Smirnoff and other brand name liquor and the staff was very informative.
Beach/Pools/Grounds
The pools were magnificent. Three infinity pools across the front of the resort, overlooking the bay and beach. There were palapas on the beach and umbrellas around the pools. However they were always in demand. They were in the process of building shelters at the pools to create more shade from the hot sun.
There was bar service at the pools and at the palapas on the beach. The grounds were very clean. Someone was always cleaning. The staff all seemed to cooperate with each other. It was great. We could snorkelor body surf right off the beach.
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel
There was always lots going on around the pools and on the beach.. beach volleyball, horseshoes, beach golf, pool aquasize, lessons on numerous things..spanish, towel art, message etc.
Kayaks ,hobbie cats, snorkel gear, and wake boards were all available. You could rent a wave runners as well. They also had a trampoline and a climbing iceberg in the water. There was lots to do on the beach.
We did the ATV tour and The Rough Guide Tour through the resort and we did the bay tour with a guide (Faustino)off the beach. He took us fishing, snorkeling and toured the bays. They were all very good. We took a taxi to Santa Cruz and did some shopping and wandering around the streets. It was good and at all times we felt very comfortable and safe. The people are all very friendly and helpful.
The evening shows were good when the entertainment staff performed but most of the shows were audience participation (good for poolside).
Other Comments
Check out was fast and easy but they had so many flights leaving and arriving the same day, they were swamped. I am surprised things went as smoothly as they did. The resort staff were well organized. The airport was a real bottle neck. Perhaps flights could staggered to allow less frustration for people.
This was a great resort and very clean. It was very laid back and relaxing. We would certainly go back to this resort.
