We now know what paradise looks like!
Our holiday at Marigot Bay was undoubtedly the best ever thanks to Normand and Louise and of course, the other guests staying at The Inn on the Bay. The views from the Inn were fantastic, and the accommodation excellent. Our host's hospitality, attention to our every need and the chauffeur service to the bay really made our holiday.
We will never forget morning breakfast spent talking with the other guests. Enjoying the excellent selection of fruits, homemade bread and all the other items too numerous to mention. But also the humour. Normand's jokes really set us up for the day!
We are constantly looking at the photographs of our holiday, the sailing, snorkelling and the Island trips continue to bring back very happy memories. Also, remembering the great time we had relaxing around the pool with Sandy and Jerry, Richard and Sylvie, Dave and Sharon, Jerry and Chris. Happy days!
Kathy and I wish Normand and Louise every success for the future and we look forward to returning to THE INN ON THE BAY for that promised reunion.

We can't help but reminisce about the wonderful time we had at The Inn on the Bay! Such beautiful scenery, nice weather, GREAT accommodations, good food and new friends!
We were able to do different things with each couple which made it such an enjoyable vacation. Dinners with everyone, breakfasts with one couple before their diving expeditions, sailing with another, a "dinner show" complete with the Limbo and walking on glass with a third...Horse back riding, trips to Castries, Rodney Bay!!! I think the best time we all had was Saturday when we all just hung around the pool relaxing! Going to dinner like one big happy family capped our vacation!
I hope we can all get together again and enjoy Normand's and Louise's hospitality!

We visited the Inn On The Bay in St Lucia, Marigot Bay in August of 2003. We wanted to share our experience with you.
We truly felt as though we were old friends that Normand and Louise had invited as guests, not just paying transients. It was a remarkably memorable vacation that will live in our hearts and memories for many years to come. We will never forget the incredible experience of being guests at the Inn. We are planning on returning in 15 months and have convinced some of our friends and family to join us. We expect to fill the Inn.
Louise serves an excellent breakfast of local fresh fruit, homemade muffins and breads, croissants, and butter, fresh jams, and unique peanut butter. Every morning we were treated to a new variety of muffin or croissant…Chocolate chip was definitely the best. My husband just served some pineapple which he cut exactly as Louise does. It is not nearly as good, but brings back sweet memories. We will not eat mangos or bananas for awhile because we know we will be disappointed.
We loved all the special attention and assistance lavished on us. It was such a thrill to feel that we were part of the small community of Marigot Bay, because we were Normand's guests. You cannot imagine our pleasant surprise when Gildette at the Chateau Mygo brought our check at the end of our first visit and asked if we were ready for her to call Normand. When we asked how she knew we were staying with Normand, she replied that she saw him drop us off for dinner. Normand was always available to give advice, schedule tours, make reservations, drive us up and down the hill, and invest untold energy in making our vacation perfect.
I am so pleased that we found The Inn On The Bay and trusted our instincts when we booked our stay. Normand made that decision easy by his quick response to our first email which he followed up with a phone call. I particularly appreciated the way that Normand and Louise foster a spirit of community among their guests. It was fun to meet so many interesting people and share the unique experience of being guests at the Inn.
One of our fondest memories is the evening that we spent with Normand and Louise at the Green Parrot. We highly recommend them as dinner guests to anyone. We completely enjoyed the lively conversation, relaxing atmosphere, excellent wine and delectable offerings of Chef Harry...to say nothing of the free ride.
It seemed that our biggest decision of the day was whether we would noodle in the pool or go to the beach. We loved having no TV or phone. Quiet evenings just listening to the tree frogs or playing Monopoly and Scrabble were completely relaxing.

We spent 10 glorious days as the guests of Normand and Louise and we are looking forward to our next visit, which we scheduled before we left St Lucia. We have visited many Caribbean islands and enjoyed a number of wonderful trips, but this was truly the most unique island in the Caribbean, an unbelievably hospitable Inn, hosted by a delightful couple, and our best honeymoon ever (it was honeymoon # 11.)
It is definately a 5 out of 5 stars!

When you think about traveling to the Caribbean and St. Lucia, The Inn on the Bay should be your choice. As future Innkeepers when we went to their Inn, we left knowing that this is how we wanted our guests to feel - special and wanted. No where else will you find warmer, friendly hospitality amid the most spectacular setting in the Caribbean! Norman and Louise have created "heaven on earth" that will provide total relaxation and escape from the stress and grind of busy lives. Incredible breakfasts start the day and then the pool, or make sure you take a leisurely stroll (or drive) down to the Bay area. Make sure to go to The Shack for incredible lunches and dinners. Norman and Louise can help arrange for tours and outings with their "super host" personalities. We have both travelled to many countries in the world, but here we found ourselves in a setting of tranquility and absolute beauty. Louise and Norman have made The Inn on the Bay the gem in the Caribbean crown! We will be back!

We had the pleasure of staying with Normand and Louise at their beautiful home in Marigot Bay for two weeks in December 2002. They are warm and hospitable people and they continually went out of their way to make us feel welcome – by the end of our stay we felt as though we had made friends, a welcome change from the usual hotel experience.
Their home is situated on a hillside with a magnificent view, and we enjoyed a homemade breakfast on the deck each morning, a lovely start to the day. Louise’s muffins are delicious, and Normand’s sense of humour kept us laughing all day!
They organized everything for us, from day trips to a car rental, and their advice on places to visit and restaurants to try were excellent. We didn’t have to worry about anything and this really allowed us to just relax and enjoy paradise!
We had a simply wonderful time. Booking our stay at the Inn on the Bay was the smartest thing we ever did, and we certainly chose the most beautiful place on the island. We highly recommend Inn on the Bay to anyone planning to travel to St. Lucia – you won’t be disappointed, in fact you probably won’t want to leave!!

Mary and I loved our second stay at the Inn On The Bay. Normand and Louise were wonderful hosts as always. We enjoyed the morning breakfast consisting of coffee, fresh fruit, cheese, cereals, and homemade breads that Louise prepared every morning. Evenings were spent sitting on the deck drinking a French wine that Norman and Louise had selected for us. Normand is a very humorous and entertaining host. Both he and Louise cater to their guests, which provides for a wonderful and relaxing vacation. There are many possible outings, which guests can enjoy. Since we had been to the southern part of the island on our first trip to St. Lucia, this time we enjoyed a day of sailing to Rodney Bay and Pigeon Point which Norman organized for us. Though it is fun to see as much of the beautiful island of St. Lucia as possible, it is fantastic to return to the Inn on the Bay each evening to partake of this little bit of paradise. It is truly a very special place.

We were so happy to return to The Inn on the Bay, this time with old friends for a "friend fix". Since we had been to The Inn before, we thought we knew what to expect, but our stay was even better than we remembered or expected. It was a perfect island visit: intimate surroundings, with old and new friends nearby; relaxation, with enough activity choices for anyone (sailing and the rain forest are real winners); fine dining; gorgeous sunsets from the new deck; the bay at the bottom of the steps; and the personal attention of most gracious and hospitable host and hostess imaginable. We have never found such a comfortable and warm welcome at any holiday destination and look forward to yet another visit to The Inn. We were the first to repeat, maybe we'll be the first to three-peat!

Dear Normand & Louise:
Thank you so much for the photograph and your kind e-mail. We arrived
home
last evening to about 7 inches of new snow!!! Quite a transition for us
after the wonderful sunshine and warm temperatures of Marigot Bay!
We already miss Louise's breakfasts at the pool with everyone and, of course, Normand's jokes and stories. For people like us who only take vacations once a year, it's good to know there are people like you that help make it so worthwhile. We are counting on our memories of the beautiful views and sunsets from the balcony at the Inn, as well as the sailing, snorkeling and diving experiences to carry us through to our next vacation.
Thank you for hospitality, and we hope to see you again!

The memories of our trip and time spent with Normand and Louise, the hosts of the Inn on the Bay, will last forever. On the last day of my stay, I just stood on the deck and was trying to imbed the view into my mind's eye. It is the most spectacular place and our pictures just don't do it justice. The tranquility, hospitality, friendship, great amenities, and attention to detail make this hotel a must-stay! I also miss the yummy grapefruit and fresh-baked goodies in the morning and all the other personal touches (ie, making reservations, providing transportation, etc.) You may even get to catch a glimpse of "Mick Jagger"! We definitely had a great time and recommend this Inn to all!

What made the difference for me was the approach and personality of our (perfect) hosts, Normand & Louise. The Inn itself does not have too many rooms and this allows for easy interaction between the guests. While we were there, we had the company of couples from Norway, both East & West Coast US, Canada and Irish (that's us!). We had many great days and evenings in the Bay itself and elsewhere on the island - the highlight for us was going to a 'jump-up' in a neighbouring village. We are saving up to return !

Our visit to Saint Lucia has gone down as our best holiday ever.
The island is beautiful but the the significant factor was our stay at The Inn on the Bay at Marigot Bay. The standard of accommodation and the attentiveness of our hosts Normand & Louise made you feel that you were staying with old friends.
The Inn on the Bay is set high on a cliff top with breathtaking views over the bay. If you are going to visit Saint Lucia, we would thoroughly recommend The Inn on the Bay.
Who knows we might meet you their.

We discovered Marigot Bay while taking a one-day catamaran tour around the coast of St. Lucia in February 2001. It was so beautiful and peaceful, we were determined to return there for a vacation. We noticed the buildings overlooking the bay and wondered if they were actually available as tourist accommodations. So it was off to the internet.
We came upon the Inn on the Bay. We looked no further. Their website is great and is wealth of information, not only about the Inn, but about the many things to do on the island. The testimonials were wonderful, the guests have nothing but good things to say - and it's all true.
The breakfasts on the deck overlooking the bay were fantastic. Such a picturesque setting to accompany Louise's marvelous muffins, incredible croissants, fabulous fruits, coffee, juice etc, etc.
Normand is always there to ensure you have everything you need - arranging tours, suggesting restaurants, driving us to and from Marigot Bay, and of course those jokes - yes, those jokes..........
The tours were great - the Jungle Tour with Kendall; Les Pitons - there's something magical about them; the north shore for a shopping and beach day; the Friday night Jump Up Party at Anse La Raye; the tour to Castries. We did all of this in one week and Normand arranged everyting.
It was a different holiday for us. We normally take all-inclusive vacations, staying at large hotels and becoming lost in the crowds. We felt special with Normand and Louise. They pay attention to detail and treat their guests like friends. Our vacation was so relaxing.
We certainly plan to return and can highly recommend the Inn on the Bay.

We came home feeling that we had spent two weeks with good friends, instead of the usual anonymous hotel. We had a fantastic time, thank you both so very much.... - - - - - - - - - - - - I miss the early morning mist at dawn And my first cup of coffee I miss sharing breakfast with my feathered neighbours I miss the tinkle of laughter that would follow Normands banter and jokes from somewhere around the pool... I miss Louise, with her soft, quiet, unassuming manner - and her outrageous breakfasts... I miss the gentle decisions for the day ahead - to relax by the pool, head for the bay, hire a car, take a tour. But no. Perhaps just the pool today. And the suttle decisions of the evening - supper in the bay, or Castries, or the Jump Up - Or a good bottle of wine and nibbles - at home - I miss leaving the deck mid afternoon for the tranquility and stillness of the terrace; with the shimmer of sea, flutter of humming birds and gentle lapping of waves far, far below... I just miss. Thank you both ... for the perfect holiday!
