Mayan Riviera, Mexico

Mayan Riviera
Famous because of its soft white sandy beach and turquoise water, the Yucatán's Caribbean coast stretches from Cancún all the way to the border of Belize over 380 km (236 miles)
On this coast you can stay in a variety of lodgings or to distance yourself from all of them. Just about every type of accommodations you can think of is a possibility: rustic cabins, secluded spa resorts, eco hotels, boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts, or all-inclusive megaresorts.

Mayan Riviera Information

From Playa del Carmen and the rest of the coast there are tours available at the local tour agencies to all major tourist attractions like the Maya ruins and nature parks such as Xcaret & Xel-Ha.
The island Cozumel is half an hour away by ferry from Playa del Carmen but not recommended for just a day trip unless you only want to shop.
There's only one highway along the Mayan Riviera coast, so you can't get lost, driving isn’t difficult here. But you can also take the local bus for a few pesos.
